TOMI REICEHTAL Portrait, Acquisition, National Gallery of Ireland.

THE LONKA PROJECT is a photographic tribute to the last Holocaust survivors, who have been individually photographed in numerous countries by over 250 professional photographers worldwide. It will be inaugurated on January 27, 2020 at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2020, the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. In commemoration a multi-media screening of the project will take place in the Yad Mordechai Museum, Israel, January 27, 2020.
The Lonka Project was initiated in Jerusalem by Jim Hollander and Rina Castelnuovo as a tribute to Rina’s mother Lonka, Dr. Elenora Nass (1926-2018). As a girl, Lonka survived five Nazi concentration camps, and represents the Holocaust survivors’ power to live.
Portrait of Tomi Reichental, Dublin 2019 , Lonka Project .

Tomi Reichental, Holocaust survivor, has received many awards for his work and tireless efforts to promote tolerance and to educate young people about the importance of remembrance and reconciliation and it has made him one of the most inspirational figures in modern Ireland.
