RHA PORTRAITS 2009
Amelia Stein was the first photographer elected as a member of the RHA in 2004. The Royal Hibernian Academy is an artist-based and artist-oriented institution in Ireland, founded in Dublin in 1823. The RHA has 50 Elected Artist Members and is housed in their refurbished premises, one of most significant large scale Private Arts Galleries in the City Centre of Dublin. It houses large scale gallery spaces, studios and a school. It is both privately and publicly funded .
As part of the refurbishment in 2009, the Artist was commissioned as part of “The percent for Art Scheme ” to document all of the Artist members in their studios a visual record /documentation encompassing portaiture, photographs of details from each studio and a study of each individual artists chair in their workspaces. There was a publication of this work and the photographs have been Exhibited .
